Version 4.8.0

What's new

Asset fields on opportunity pages are now more flexible

We're replacing former hard-coded asset fields with configurable fields matching the flexibility of other existing configurable fields. Deal Advanced plan users will be able to display asset fields through their own layout, define the field labels needed, and set mandatory fields. This improvement is the first step toward releasing the multiple assets capability in opportunities, scheduled for the end of September.

This release improves the following functionality across several parts of the application:

For Business Admin users (for Deal Advanced plan only):

  • Field configuration in the Administration page: The Asset tab now contains a unique Asset fields section with all the fields related to any asset type. Any field can be added to the opportunity page layout regardless of the asset type it was previously related to. The following previously hard-coded fields can now be renamed and added as required fields: Name, Description, Drug type, Development phase, Target, Other therapeutic areas, Therapeutic area detail, Other clinical indications, and Technology type. See Configure additional fields.

  • Opportunity page layout configuration in the Administration page: In the Layouts tab, there is no longer a fixed Pharma asset section at the top of the configurable sections. The following previously hard-coded fields can be moved to other asset sections: Name, Description, Drug type, Development phase, Target, Other therapeutic areas, Therapeutic area detail, Other clinical indications, and Technology type. See Configure additional fields.

For all users:

  • Initiatives: Initiatives no longer have a unique assigned asset type (i.e., pharma, technology, organization, consumer health assets), which means initiatives can now contain opportunities with different asset types. Consequently, the asset type selection step during the initiative creation has been removed (and added to the opportunity creation process instead). See Create and manage initiatives.

  • Opportunity creation: The asset type selection has been added as the first step of the opportunity creation process. Consequently, the opportunity type (i.e., workflow type) must match the selected asset type. See Create and manage opportunities.

  • Opportunity filtering options: All the sections containing asset fields are now regrouped under one unique section called Asset fields.

  • Moving and copying opportunities to other initiatives: Opportunities can now be moved to any initiatives, regardless of the asset type associated with the opportunity, since initiatives no longer have asset type restrictions. See Move or copy opportunity to another initiative.

  • Importing opportunities: Opportunities can now be imported to any initiatives, regardless of the opportunity asset type. See Import opportunities.
