Inova Next Generation 2.14.0 Release

Important Product Updates

As Inova is moving forward with the release of Inova Next Generation on November 3, 2022, a few structural points regarding the platform are evolving. 


New Application Name

The application that you know used to be focused on Search and Evaluation, it now allows you to manage all your partnering opportunities in one place: in-licensing, out-licensing, research collaborations, and investments. To better support these new capabilities, the Lead Space name has changed to Inova Next Generation to accommodate the broader range of activities that can be managed in the application.

Please refer to our previous announcement made on October 5, 2022 for more information about the transition between Lead Space and Inova Next Generation.


New Object Naming

To match the product vision of Inova Next Generation, we're changing the terminology of the two biggest features of the application.

  • Leads become Opportunities: You can now centralize the information and coordinate your evaluation process from the identification of a new opportunity, through its initial evaluation, to the due diligence and deal signature.

  • Briefs become Initiatives: As the range of activities coordinated and clustered in Inova Next Generation grows, search briefs can't cover entire partnering strategies anymore. Initiatives are meant to reflect how broad and diverse the strategic initiatives are in the world of biopharma partnering.


New Menu Bar Layout

The new menu bar is now collapsible to offer you a wider workspace. It also switches to the bottom of your screen to fit vertical displays.

  • Each menu item has been placed under newly created categories to easily identify them: Workspace, Directory, and Recently Viewed.

  • The new menu also contains all the main actions previously available at the top-right of your screen: the quick search, the Create buttons, and your user profile. Note that My Profile became Account (to manage your notifications), and Settings became Administration (for Business Admin to manage list values available in the platform).


Improved Navigation

Now, navigation frequently occurs in the same browser tab instead of opening new tabs when navigating to different objects. For instance, opportunities (formerly leads) now open within the same browser tab when you click to open one.


New application URL

As we're renaming Lead Space into Inova Next Generation, the application URL has been updated accordingly. The /lead-space/ part is now replaced by /inova/. For instance, before it was https://inova.partneringplace.com/lead-space/#/home, it's now https://inova.partneringplace.com/inova/#/home. The previous URL will automatically redirect you to the new one. However, we strongly encourage you to update any saved URLs and bookmark the new one.


New Help Center

You can now find all support resources dedicated to Inova Next Generation on a brand-new help center (you're here now by the way!). Moving forward, the previous help center will only house support resources for Inova Classic (formerly Inova Partnering Platform). Help icons within each platform will direct you to the appropriate help center. You can also easily navigate from one help center to the other using the redirection headers located at the top of both help centers.

New Features

New Dashboard Page

You now have access to a new page fully dedicated to your opportunities analytics. The goal is to help you have a better grasp of the landscape of your company's opportunities and get high-level insights into the partnering workflow. This page called Dashboard is available directly in the menu bar.

Opportunity Source

We added a sub-section titled Source in the Details tab of the opportunities (formerly leads) to help you track where the opportunities created come from.

  • This sub-section contains two fields: Source and Source details, followed by the recently released fields mentioning the discovery date and discovery owner.

  • We provide a default list of possible sources, that can be edited via the Administration page (you must have a Business Admin role to access this page).

  • We added these new fields to the filtering options and the columns displayed in the list of all opportunities.

  • For the following sources, an additional field appears to provide more details about the source: Campaign, Conference, Consultant, Investment bank, or VC.


Configurable Opportunity Workflows

You can now customize the name of the stages and the statuses to be applied in the opportunity workflow. Default stage names are Identification and Pre-CDA Review, and default status names are Active, On-Hold, Accepted, and Declined. You can now rename them as you wish to fit the specific terminology of your company. The modifications will be applied to all your opportunities.

What's Enhanced

Tasks and Evaluation on the Homepage: 

  • On the homepage, the section My Tasks has been renamed My Tasks and Evaluations to help you easily find the evaluations you have been invited to participate in. We also improved the visual difference between tasks and evaluations in the list: tasks are signaled by a check box, whereas evaluations are signaled by a little board icon.

  • Now, you can also better visualize the progress of your evaluation with the number of users who responded versus the total number of participants, and whether the evaluation is open (signaled by a green icon) or closed (signaled by a red icon).


Push an opportunity to Inova Classic (formerly Inova Partnering Platform):

  • We replaced the Create opportunity button with Create confidential evaluation, in the lead workflow (newly called opportunity workflow). This is to better reflect the partnering stages and improve the use of Lead Space (newly called Inova Next Generation) integrated with the Inova Partnering Platform (newly called Inova Classic).

  • Additionally, all users with a Manager role are now able to push a confidential evaluation to Inova Classic, not just the initiative (i.e. brief) owners.
